Did the title of my article offend you? If it did tough crap because I have first speech protections that allow me to freely use the word tyranny without fear of prosecution. Tyranny is alive and well on our streets, but unlike the media narrative being pushed by left leaning media outlets the purveyors of control are not President Trump and Republicans, but the regressive Left and their cadre of SJWs play acting as black masked thugs. I have heard some ridiculous things this past year, but reading the Op-Ed penned by Berkeley student senator Juniperangelica Xiomara Cordova-Goff “Campus must prioritize safety of marginalized over free speech”, I know we have finally reached a tipping point where the Left has completely lost touch reality and fallen ass backwards into insanity. This goatee having self-described female transgendered social activist argues that the only way to protect students from the horrors of free speech is by implementing what amounts to campus wide tyranny. If you think that this movement will simply stop at the boundaries of the American college campus you are sadly mistaken because these free speech destroying crap buckets will be graduating and bringing their tyranny of political correctness to workplaces and recreational areas near you.

So let’s review some of the gems that Berkeley school paper The Daily Californian believe are worthy of being printed.

I am over the debate on this campus between UC Berkeley conservatives and those on the left who still have energy to argue. Free speech has always been a tactic used by the state to grant the illusion that all voices in this nation are valued, yet there is a reason why Black female senators are discredited and why there is a white supremacist in the Oval Office.

To what debate are you referring? The modern Left refuses to debate… and in the rare instances that they do, they lose and hit the panic button and start firing off character attacks like Yosemite Sam. Pew – Racist. Pew – Sexist. Pew – Homophobe. Pew – Anti-Semite. Pew… Pew… Pew… The left does not have an argument they have an emotional appeal and as Ben Shapiro is fond of saying… “Facts don’t care about your feelings.” You cannot have a debate when one person is using facts and logic and the other is whining about how they feel. Even at the times where the Right has forced the debate, what have we seen from the tolerant Left… legions of black masked wannabe thugs burning trash, throwing projectiles and pepper spraying people. This is not how rational people respond to words… it is how children respond.

Somewhere in all our political discourse, we lost the point. We forgot that the people, the victims, the survivors of state violence we casually discuss are people living the experiences we have the privilege of discussing from a theoretical, omniscient perspective.

Only one side has lost the point. There was a period in time when it was common knowledge among grade school children that “…words can never hurt me.” Sadly we have college students who think that the spoken and written word is a form of violence that allows one to escalate the matter to violence if they happen to disagree. Additionally this is this person’s roundabout way of declaring that unless you meet certain requirements you cannot speak about a subject. No absolutely not. If your side recommends policy or laws that impact me as well then I have every right to speak up as well. You want a law that funds programs that benefit <Insert victim class de jour here> and required that it be tax payer funded, then I have the right to be informed and my opinion heard. If that consult portion of the process is left out then you turn it into government sanctioned robbery.

I want to say that I do not feel safe on this campus. Living on the streets for six years did not prepare me for the violence of UC Berkeley. But if the violence is real, then our conversations need to be real too — we cannot let free speech become a tactic that asks oppressed people to tolerate their oppressors in hopes of peaceful compromise.

The violence of UC Berkeley? You mean the violence that the Leftists of Antifa are creating and the administrators and mayor are allowing to occur unchecked? No your side does not get to simply call words and ideas a form of violence and then react with ACTUAL violence. Words are NOT a form of violence. You don’t like what someone is saying you have plenty of options to deal with this; debate them or walk away. Engaging in violent behavior and then declaring that you do not feel safe is not an adult option.

On the morning students woke up to Sproul Plaza flooded with fully armed police officers last Thursday, I was shocked and traumatized. I wondered how the UC could come to the conclusion that filling Sproul Plaza with men and guns made anyone feel safe. Walking through Sproul reminded me of every bad encounter I’ve had with police. It reminded me off the afternoons I visited my parents in jail. It gave me the same stomach aches of wondering where my sister’s children were within the foster care system. Having the state use intimidation strategies on our campus assured me that my existence and trauma are not priorities in decision-making.

The police were there because the Leftist protesters were rioting. I guess the police being there helps make those Conservatives feel safe as they are trying to engage in the exercise of their free speech despite the fact you have violent children throwing bricks, bottles and low grade explosive devices into their crowds. Maybe Conservatives feel a bit safer because the leftist cowards wait until a Conservative isn’t looking to ambush them with fists, pepper spray and bike locks. I am sorry life has not been kind to you, but it is hardly the fault of Conservatives that your parents were in jail or your sister’s children were taken from her. You want a better life… well Conservatives believe that there is only one person who can make that happen for you… you.

The intergenerational trauma that marginalized students hold on campus has sculpted a particular relationship with power dynamics that must not be ignored. This reality, however, was overlooked when the administration failed to understand that this day would be retraumatizing for Black and brown students who are still unpacking a lifetime of state violence?

I guess I am just at the point where I’ve studied the genocide of my people and am tired of living it today. I do not understand how we can fill the streets demanding justice and then magically separate ourselves from the movement to protect conservative voices who want a soapbox and our death certificates. Am I missing something? If leftists have enough emotional capacity to balance the internal debate of fighting for the oppressed while also protecting the speech of the oppressors, more power to them (literally).

There is a lot to unpack in these next two statements. The first is the intergenerational trauma nonsense. No your ancestors had it rough… you however do not. You want to go back and relitigate the issue of American slavery which occurred over a 150 years ago, but conveniently forget that they are estimating that there are some 48 million people in slavery TODAY. Why don’t we want to discuss this because it destroys your precious narrative that white people living today have something to be guilty of and should make excuses and reparations in perpetuity. No if the issue was slavery was so generationally traumatic then you would be fighting this battle instead of using it as a way to grab victim status and not take responsibility for every bad thing that happens to you. Yes there are some ignorant racists out in the world… but it is not as wide spread as you would have the world believe.

You are living through a genocide today? I am sorry, but the statistics do not bear this out. Your hyperbolic nonsense has got to stop if you want others to take you seriously. The fact is if there is a genocide occurring among your people it is not being done by the state or white people. The fact is most people who are murdered are murdered by someone of their own race. This is across the board and year after year. Repeating a lie does not make it true and when you use this blatant lie to describe a problem you in fact trivialize actual genocides that have occurred or are occurring at this very moment.

But I am tired. I am tired and I am scared that my life expectancy as a brown trans femme really is only 35 years old. With or without a UC Berkeley-sealed diploma, I know I can be killed for walking down the street in a dress.

I do not get where they are getting the 35 year life expectancy. I can only imagine that they are looking at it from the viewpoint of the Transsexual suicide rate, but to conflate that with the lie about transsexuals being simply killed in the street is ridiculous and dangerous. Once again it is an emotional argument that is being made in a hyperbolic fashion with zero underpinnings of truth or logic.

As long as this is our reality, my focus will be on the survival of my people. And as long as the University of California refuses to fully dedicate itself to the liberation of the oppressed students on their diversity brochures, I will not rest, will not be silenced, will not put down my lighter fuel.

And we finally arrive at how someone can go so far off the rails… “reality”. See the Left wants nothing more than to tell you how they feel and have you accept that as the universal truth. They will not bring actual facts or logic, but will make an emotional argument. If you challenge this fabricated self-delusion you are immediately attacked as a racist, sexist, homophobe or any of the labels with which they like to use to discredit their opposition. They cannot win on the strength of their arguments, nor can they continue to intimidate us into silence. The only path left to them is to pursue a path of violent suppression which ultimately leads to tyranny. I recognize other’s right to live their life how they want to as long as they do not endanger another person. I judge people by the content of their character. I will fight for the Left’s right to speak this nonsense, but I will not be intimidated into silence and I will not stop calling the Left on their bullshit. Tyrannies do not spring up overnight, they are created one step at a time with each new loss of liberty.
