It is another week so it is obviously time for another celebrity montage video to protest Trump. After Meryl Streep’s last lecture at the Golden Globes I did not think that Hollywood could make themselves any more irrelevant in my eyes and then they go and butcher Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive” to protest the upcoming inauguration. It seems that Hollywood has upped the ante because this video produced W Magazine includes some notable Hollywood elites like Andrew Garfield, Taraji P. Henson, Felicity Jones, Matthew McConaughey, Emma Stone, Natalie Portman, Chris Pine, Hailee Steinfeld and Amy Adams.
Despite the addition of A-List talent this video only proves that there exists a group of people who think that because they are famous that their opinion is more relevant than those millions of Americans that voted for President Elect Trump. Part of the reason that Democrats have been getting trounced in Local, State and Federal elections over the past 8 years is this sense of entitlement and superiority that has taken over the party. When I first saw the video this morning I thought to myself that they have to be trolling America because no group of people could be this deluded, and then I realized that when you are worth millions of dollars and want for nothing, it is impossible for you to relate to the daily lives of the rest of America no matter how much you try. I implore you celebrities to stop making your stupid protest videos, because the American public does not care for bad karaoke served with a side of self-righteousness.
